"The Offensive 10 Commandments"

GOD

As you have probably noticed, there is a never ending, never resting movement to have the Ten Commandments removed from public places like court houses and such, because "some" find it to be offensive. Personally, "I" am offended by these people who claim to be offended by the Ten Commandments. (I'll add that I am fully justified to be offended at that)

I am especially offended when people visit or move here from another country, then publicly state how offended they are by the Ten Commandments being displayed. (anywhere) Most normal people know what this country is about before they hop on the plane or boat to get here.

This is comparable to me entering your house, (invited or not) then telling you that I am offended by the photographs of your family on your wall or mantle. Offended because of my Cherokee Indian heritage and belief that having your picture taken steals or captures your soul. Then telling you to take them down!

I am equally offended by atheists who claim to be offended by the display of the commandments. My advice; Simply don't read them and you won't be offended! The only offense taking place is by the atheist demanding that they be taken down. The Ten Commandments in and of themselves are not offensive to anyone unless someone is "forced" to follow and live by them.

Unlike other religions, Christians do "not" force anyone to worship their God. To be offended by the Ten Commandments is, to a great extent, to be offended by the United States Of America. Why? Because some of our most important laws are exactly the same as the commandments.

6. You shall not commit murder -
7. You shall not commit adultery
8. You shall not steal -
9. You shall not give false testimony -
(perjury)

As far as the other six commandments, if you don't like them, don't read them and don't live by them. I just read the Ten Commandments! It took 1 minute and 32 seconds. I didn't speed read it, neither did I read it too slow, just normal.

So my question is, If the commandments offended you, why did you spend roughly, one minute and 32 seconds reading them? (Duh) I'm sorry if I sound sarcastic, but if I see a magazine in the convenience store that offends me, I don't stop to read it! Furthermore, I don't spend even 1 minute and 32 seconds looking at the cover. I ignore it!

There is a truth here! Either the people being offended by reading the 10 Commandments are so insecure that they are afraid they will start living by them, by virtue of "No Will Power", or they are simply bullies, trying to take away your right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression. (It can be only one)

If you do not believe in God, why would you be so threatened by his commandments? Personally, "I" am secure enough to set aside the things I don't believe in. I am not supersticious, but I do not insist that all ladders be banned from public places, so people can not walk under them and have bad luck.

I don't believe that if you break a mirror, you will have seven years bad luck! Neither do I insist that all mirrors be taken down from court houses and other public places!

Lets just call a spade, a spade! Lets be honest! These people are "not" really offended by the ten commandments. It is just a small step in a carefully planned agenda to take away our freedoms, one small slice at a time!

America, get wise! Start fighting back! (before it's too late)

"Christian's playing the Lottery"

Is it a sin for a Christian to play the Lotto? The only example in the bible where it was truly a sin to gamble, was when the centurians were drawing lots (gambling) for Jesus` clothes. But then, the centurians were "not" Christians.

There are really no scriptures against it. If you do it for fun and you can afford it, then do just that! Have fun. Know that your chances of winning big are small to almost non existant, but have fun.

I've had people write in and ask me to pray for them to win the lottery. (and I do) They say, if I won, I'd give money to the Church and to the poor. But the truth is if you're not giving any money to the church or to the poor now, it's highly unlikely that God will answer that prayer.

It may sound real good to say, but the truth is, if your not giving anything now, you won't give anything after you win the lottery either. God knows that, and in your heart, you know it.

However, if you can afford a dollar a week, have fun with it. If it ever reaches a point where you are spending money on the lottery and can't afford to pay your bills or put food on the table, the lottery is "not" for you and you would do wise to avoid it.

If you play the lotto, you're not sinning, but if you give a dollar to promote the work of God, you'll be storing up riches in heaven. If you give a dollar to the poor, or even a neighbor kid to buy an icecream, at least you get a smile in return for your investment.

The best way is: "Do both" (if you can afford it)

"How to get a Miracle"

hands

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray, he gave them the “Lords prayer”. Luke 11:2 thru 4. Everyone who reads this is so impressed with it, that they stop reading right there. It’s a neat and tidy little formula that fits right into the box that we keep God in. Problem is, this was not the point Jesus wanted us to get.

Jesus told us numerous times in the bible that if we want/need something from God, healing, miracle etc.., to pray and be persistent. He told us to literally hound God for what we need until he gives it to us. He even told us parables to show us how we are supposed to pray and get a miracle or answer to prayer.

What he wanted us to get, were the examples he gave directly afterward. If you read, you will see that Jesus gave several different examples to drive the point home to us. He’s saying: “I am an eye witness to heaven! I know the Father personally! If you want something from him, this is how to do it!"

Read: Luke 18:1 thru 8 and Luke 11:5 thru 10. (These are very short, read them)

Luke 11:5 Then He said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves;
Luke 11:6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him';
Luke 11:7 and from inside he answers and says, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been shut and my children and I are in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.'
Luke 11:8 "I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
Luke 11:9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Luke 11:10 "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.

---------------------------------------------------------

Luke 18:1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
Luke 18:2 saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
Luke 18:3 "There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.'
Luke 18:4 "For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,
Luke 18:5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'"
Luke 18:6 And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge *said;
Luke 18:7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
Luke 18:8 "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

---------------------------------------------------------

You see, now is not the time to say "Help me God". It is the time to say: "HELP ME GOD", "HELP ME GOD", "HELP ME GOD".

God does listen and he will give you the desires of your heart!

Matthew 18:19 "Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.

Sometimes we have big problems and sometimes we have small problems, but what we forget sometimes is that they are “all” small problems to God. Nothing is too great or too small for him to deal with.

Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.

"Children forced to worship Allah in School"

By Dan Douglass on Jul 7, 2008 | In News, Political, God, Human Rights | Send feedback »

books
Yes, you read the title correctly. A classroom full of 11 and 12 year old children in Alsager High School in Cheshire County, England, were instructed by the teacher to "Pray to Allah" during a religious education session. When two boys refused to do so, they were punished with detention.

Could you imagine, even for a moment if this same (not so bright) teacher, forced a classroom full of Muslim children to pray to Jesus Christ? For a woman that teaches religion, she apparently doesn't have a clue what the Christian religion is about.

1. We as Christians don't "force" anyone to worship our God.
2. To make Christian children pray to "Allah" or any other false God, (as we consider it) is to make them commit a sin against our God.
3. To make Christian children pray to another God, is to force them to break three of the ten Commandments. (1, 2, and 5 to be exact)

First Commandment: Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before Me.

Second Commandment: Exodus 20:4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
Exodus 20:5 "You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,
Exodus 20:6 but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Fifth Commandment: Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

These two boys not only honored their parents by refusing to pray to another God, They honored God! I give them a big Power of Faith "two thumbs up". When you see two good and brave kids like these, just follow one of them home and you'll find "two good and brave parents"

So, what happened to teachers simply teaching our children math, english, and the basics that we pay them to teach? Sure they are still there, but are usually placed second to a political agenda.

Male students are being feminized while more priority is put on female students to achieve. Students in general are having other religions forced on them in a clever subtle way, while at the same time, they are literally forced to attend "Gay" assemblies. (Something that none of the religions adopt - go figure)

Liberal political beliefs and agendas are embeded into our children every day in the public schools. This has been orchestrated by a small group of people and is not the will of the majority of american parents.

How can this go on in America? Simple, because "you" let it! When is the last time you attended a school board meeting? Have you "ever" attended a school board meeting? If you don't stand up and get involved now, your children will be lost, but your grandchildren will be doomed!

Don't say I didn't warn you.

"America-No Longer a Christian Nation?"

By Dan Douglass on Jun 25, 2008 | In Political | Send feedback »

Link: http://pofm.org

This is the latest from Barrack Obama. "We are no longer a Christian nation, (at least not just) but a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a budist nation, a Hindu nation and a nation of non believers"

Does anyone know this guys phone number? If you do, call him up and tell him that if he'd like to be our president, he needs to find out what America is all about first. He really needs to know!

This great nation is indeed "A Christian Nation". Although we welcome people from all countries, races and religions and allow them the freedom to worship as they please, (or not) this country was founded on Christian beliefs and values, by Christian men and women. It's in our Constitution, in our Pledge of Allegiance, it's even on our money.

I assume you've viewed the first video clip. Below is a fellow who is not quite so confused on this issue. (He gets it!)

"God's Favorite Color"

By Dan Douglass on Jun 22, 2008 | In God | Send feedback »

Link: http://www.powerofaith.com

Did you ever wonder what God's favorite color is? Just look around. If you exclude all the man made structures, what do you see? You see Green!

Earth

However, when you back up a thousand miles or so and get a "God's Eye View" of the earth, what do you see? You see "Blue". SO, which do you think his favorite color is? Green or blue?

But, then again, the one thing that sets God apart from everyone and everything else, (even Satan) is his ability to create. No one else can do that. So are we to assume that God used up "all" his awesome power when he created the earth, or do you think he created other worlds?

I'm willing to bet that he did. (it's what he does, that no one else can do) So do you figure that he used the same color scheme that he did for earth, or maybe there are worlds out there where the plant life and oceans are yellow and red. Or purple and orange.

Or maybe colors we have never even seen before. You never know. God can do anything he wants! Maybe we'll see some day. Until then, I'm still rooting for the "Blue Planet".

There's no deep message here. It's just entertaining, and good clean fun. enjoy~

"13"

By Dan Douglass on Jun 20, 2008 | In Funny | Send feedback »

Link: http://pofm.org

I was walking past the mental hospital the other day,
and all the patients were shouting,
"13...13....13...13"

Man looking through a knot hole

The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little
gap in the planks and looked through to see what was
going on.

Some idiot poked me in the eye with a stick.

Then they all started shouting, "14..14...14...14..."

A friend sent me this email . . . I thought I'd infect "you" with it.
