I recently wrote several articles on the subject of "Gun Control" and the "2nd Amendment", of which I stated: "The 2nd amendment belongs to the people, it is not negotiable. If your second amendment right is taken away, your 1st ammendment right to free speech will be next".

Coincidentally, I then received this email:

This gentleman proved my point, even though he made a total "ass" of himself doing it, he proved my point.

This person (in his infinate wisdom) would like to take away your 2nd amendment right and mine to defend ourselves, but is obviously enjoying and practicing his 1st amendmet right to "Free Speech".

Unless you are ready and willing to vote for a ban on freedom of speech, or of the press, or your right to peacfully assemble, then you would be very unwise to vote for "any" type of ban on guns! The White House administration just released 5,000 violent, criminals onto american streets, purely for political reasons, yet they are trying to disarm you, the law abiding citizen! Go figure?

The amendments mentioned were put in place to protect "you" from the government. (All of them) They belong to the people, it is not up to Washington politicians to try and trash them. They don't have that right.

As far as the gentleman who sent me the email (No return email address, probably not his real name), I will simply quote Voltaire:

MARCO RUBIO NOW A HOUSEHOLD WORD!

Although it was not the liberal medias intention, they have given Marco Rubio a tremendous boost. By making such an issue about Mr Rubio taking a drink of water during his Post State of the Union address, they have made everyone familiar with him and made his name a household word.

Even bad publicity is good publicity! Do you remember (if you are old enough) when John Lennon of the Beatles said: "We are more popular than Jesus Christ"?

The country went nuts! The media was all over it and people were burning Beatle albums. Radio stations were banning their music from being played, and people were in a fury! However, because the media made such a fuss about it, the Beatles became a household word overnight.

Older people who had never heard of them or ever listened to their music were now quite familiar with "The Beatles". Religious people who would never have been familiar with them or their music, were now talking about them, and defiant teenagers were now more determined than ever to listen to them and buy their music!

This is exactly what the liberal media has inadvertently done for Marco Rubio by trying to portray him as incompetent or irrelevant, by focusing on him taking a drink of water and not reporting on the content of his speech, which by the way was filled with excellent content.

Is it possible there is a racist element involved against hispanic's by the left wing media? Both president Obama and Hillary Clinton have been observed drinking water during debates, interviews and speeches on national television, and there was never a word said about it.

SANDY HOOK SHOOTING MASSACRE SPARKS GUN CONTROL DEBATE

Logically, when there are more people in the world as today, there is naturally more violence. (more people, more violence) However, statictics state that since more people now legally carry a defensive weapon, violence has been drastically reduced.

Since the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Conn, where a mentally disturbed 20 year old shot and killed several small children and adults, it appears that certain groups are trying to capitalize on their deaths by using the victims as a means to push their "Gun Control" agenda, that has failed in the past.

They seem to think that disarming the rest of us, will somehow make us safer from people like the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter. Does that make any sense to you? I didn't think so. They would like to pass more strict gun control laws and make it more difficult to purchase a firearm. This of course is absurd, because even if we had already had the most strict gun control laws in place (Like they already did in Newtown, Conn) before that incident happened, it would not have changed a thing.

The truth is, the shooter didn't "buy" the weapons he used, he had stolen them! All the strict laws in the world would not have changed this incident. What would have changed this tragedy, is if one of the teachers or school staff had also had a firearm, instead of simply being targets.

So, as it commonly goes, the killers attorney usually pleads insanity to get a lesser sentence. Now if ever a law should be changed, it should be the insanity clause. Let's face it, anyone who walks into a mall or a school and kills innocent children and adults is definately insane! No sane normal person would do that. All the more reason, in my opinion, to send them directly to the electric chair, "Do not pass go, Do not collect $200.00"

The Newtown, Conn shooting was without a doubt "HORRIBLE" and a living nightmare, but let me tell you another story that happened in Conneticut. Dr. William A. Petit Jr., 50, was severely beaten, and the bodies of his wife, Jennifer Hawke-Petit, 48, and their daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, were found sexually molested, and tied to a bed before the house set on fire, by two ex-cons, Steven J. Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky. Helpless and bound, they did not survive.

I think you remember the story, it happened on the morning of July 23, 2007, in Cheshire, Conn. The Doctor, although severly beaten, managed to crawl to a neighbors house to call the police. I'm sure, before this incident, Dr. Petit, like the rest of us probably thought "That could never happen to me!"

Do you think more gun control laws would have saved Dr Petit's wife and children? No, but a gun might have. No matter how many laws you pass, the bad people will still get guns. And they won't be selective as to whether the gun is for hunting or not.

Folks! Bad things are going to happen, but to disarm everyone because some nut job kills a bunch of people is comparable to everyone lying down in the middle of the freeway, because someone got hit by a car! (Cars by the way, kill many more people than guns do every year) I recommend supporting the "NRA" and the "Gun Owners of America". They are your best defense against those who want to take away your property, namely, your guns.

Can you imagine someday, the police or the military comming to your house and demanding that you give them your firearms? The founders of this country put unbreakable laws in place to protect us from that! Are you going to let people in Washington over ride these laws to push a self serving agenda? They are trying to act "beyond" the authority the American people have given them. Don't let them. SPEAK UP!!

People throughout the United States are outraged and frightened over the fact that a gun control agenda is even in progress by Washington. Amunition is flying off the shelves and the gun makers can not keep up with the demand for their product.

The founding fathers sacrificed a lot just to be able to write the second ammendment. They put everything on the line. Their wealth, their lives, EVERYTHING, so we could live protected and in freedom. Don't let a bunch of Washington politicians who have never sacrificed "anything" for this country, and only seem to know how to "spend our money", override one of our greatest libertys, the "Second Ammendment".

Speak out! Call your congressman or woman. Your voice is louder than you think.

LEAD AND WE WILL FOLLOW!

When the president and other politicians, who are trying to disarm law abiding citizens can show us that this country is so safe that we do not need to own firearms, people will consider giving them up. (and I believe I can speak for almost everyone) They can prove this by sending their "Secret Service" and other armed security guards home.

Isn't it interesting that most of the laws that Washington politicians push on us, rarely apply to themselves? Take "Home or private Schooling" for instance. The Washington poiticians will not support charter or private schooling for citizens (even with our own tax dollars), but a good deal of them send their children to private schools, which more often than not, are protected by armed security? (No vouchers for you Bubba!)

I think many people will agree, when Mr. Obama dismisses the "armed" Secret Service guards surrounding him, and sends his children to Washington "Public Schools", People will feel more inclined to turn in any and every firearm in their possession. That includes hunting rifles, knives and even sling shots. That's called "LEADING BY EXAMPLE".

Why? Because then they will know that their guns are truely not needed. I heard Bill O'Reilly say the other day, that the president and politicians are more "High Profile" and it shouldn't apply to them.

I disagree! The fact that they are more "high profile" is exactly why they should be the very first to live the law they are trying to push, and lead by example. High profile or not, they should not push an agenda that they themselves are not willing to abide by personally.

As ridiculous as the law is that Mayor Bloomburg proposed, that selling large soft drinks should be banned, at least you don't see him walking around with a 64oz big gulp in his hand, and as absurd as the laws prohibiting cigarette smoking in certain places is, at least you don't see the lawmakers who pushed it, smoking themselves in publically banned places.

Well, lets face it, Bloomburg never liked big gulps anyway, and the politicians who banned smoking in certain places "Don't Smoke anyway!" It's always for your own good too! Let's hope these politicians like "Sex", because I'd hate to see that banned too! It seems that whatever a very few people don't like, we "ALL" have to live without!

Hey! I myself could justify banning sexual intercourse. You can justify just about anything if you put your mind to it. Example: "Sexual intercourse causes unwanted pregnancies, and causes Sexually Transmitted Diseases". There you go! Let's ban it!

Unfortunately, Washington has evolved into something that not only wants to ban what they don't like themselves, they now want to ban things they "do" like, so you can not have them, but "they" can keep them.

The American public has been lied to. The 2nd ammendment of the constitution was not written to apply to "hunting rifles" or "having a need" for a certain firearm. That's ridiculous. You can't even change the channel on your television without hearing from some liberal, "Why would anyone need an AK-47? That's not a hunting rifle!!

I could as easily argue that no one "Needs" an automobile! I can even list the benefits! You can ride a bicycle. By riding a bike you will not polute the air, it will save you money on gasoline, and the obesity rate will drastically go down in the U.S.

It's not about need, it's about our rights! If my neighbor wants to own an AR-15 defense weapon, that's their business, and as far as I know, maybe they do. If they start shooting it too close to my house, I'll call the police. That's what they're there for.

Sports cars are also unnecessary when you can just as easily drive a Volvo. However, it's your right to drive anything you want, and it should not concern me what you drive. You can also own any gun you wish. It's perfectly legal and protected by the 2nd ammendment.

BEWARE! If the constitution of the United States can be changed by people who don't have a fraction of the character that the people who wrote it did, and have never sacrificed for this country the way they did, then anything else in the constitution can be changed also, and I can guarantee, eventually, no matter who you are, you won't like it!

If the politicians want to get rid of "all" the guns surrounding them, then all I can say is: "If it works for them, it should work for us". They don't have to fire the secret service and armed security, just disarm them.

No politician should ever propose "anything" that they are not prepared to be subject to themselves. They should make THAT a law.

DON'T WORRY! THE PEOPLE AT THE JOURNAL NEWS ARE PROTECTED BY ARMED SECURITY!

HOWEVER, THE PEOPLE WHO'S NAMES WERE LISTED IN THEIR NEWSPAPER ARE 'NOT"

The "Journal News" in Putnam County, NY, posted a map with a list of everyone who owns a firearm permit and a link to their names and addresses. This includes x - police officers, security people and everyone else. These are law abiding citizens who have committed absolutely no crimes, and could not have even purchased a firearm if they had a criminal record.

What I didn't see in their newspaper, was a list of people who "have" committed criminal offenses. But, since this was an act by just a couple of people who don't like or agree with our laws, and posted this article about non criminal things that they just simply don't like, why did they stop there?

Many people don't like abortion and even consider abortion to be murder, so why didn't these (fair and balanced) journalists post the names and addresses of everyone who has had an abortion? I'm sure the Journal News wants to appeal to "all" of their readers, so I'm sure people would like to know if their neighbor is what they consider to be a "child killer", just like some people would like to know if their neighbor has a gun in their home.

I didn't notice a list of names and addresses of convicted "Sex Offenders" in their newspaper either! How about a list of people who didn't pay their taxes? That was absent from the report also. As long as the names and addresses of people who have committed no crime have been published, where is the list of people who drink alcohol or smoke pot?

Wow! Those journalists (?) left out a lot of stuff! Hmmm, gee, this couldn't be because they are pushing some sort of political agenda could it? NA!! (Dan Laughs like a hyena at that mere silly thought)

But No One needs an AK-47 or AR-15 Defense weapon to defend their home do they?!! After all, we have police that we pay for with our tax dollars to defend us from such things. If you believe that, then you don't really need a 4 wheel drive Hummer or a Jeep to get around with in the winter. After all, our tax dollars pay for people to plow the roads, not to mention, not everyone owns a Hummer or Jeep and they get along just fine aside from calling a tow truck now and then.

I know the solution! Lets publish a list of every Jeep and Humvee owner, complete with their names and addresses. It will make less work for the car thieves, and those of us who can't afford a Jeep or Humvee will feel better for "Sticking it to them".

What the Journal News did might have been legal, but it shouldn't be! They have put a multitude of people at risk and in danger by doing such an irresponsible thing. Now every x - law enforcement officer who ever arrested anyone, has had his name and address published so he can be easily found. The people that are not on the list are fair game for criminals, because they will know that the owner does not own a gun.

The journalists who published the names and addresses of every gun permit owner in the county are protected by armed security! (Oh, quit worrying about them, they'll be alright) Can you afford armed security? Do you want your gun taken away from you? Do you want to be denied your second ammendment right to own one? Did you know that most of the politicians who are trying to take away that right from you, are protected by armed security and send their kids to private schools.

Whether you like guns or not, fight for peoples right to own them. If you don't and we lose our second ammendment right to bare arms, it will simply be the first of a long list of rights that "will" be taken away from you, and trust me, some of them you won't like! BIGTIME!

Another interesting article you might want to read is "JOURNAL NEWS PUTS CITIZENS IN DANGER". Stand up for your rights and stand up for your neighbors rights before it's too late. Do not trust the governmet to be wise enough to decide what rights you should and should not have! They can't even balance a budget.

DIANNE FIENSTEIN LEADS THE CHARGE ON ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN

Senator Dianne Fienstein will be introducing a bill on the first day of congress to "Ban Assault Weapons". This is a little confusing to any honest person, because weapons are defined by the user. Any weapon is an "Assult Weapon" in the hands of someone who intends to assail someone else unlawfully. That would include a stone or a club if the users intentions were bad.

Somehow, to further a political agenda, only certain types of weapons have been labeled "assault Weapons" for the purpose of chipping away at the 2nd amendment, until eventually, all firearms will be banned. I'm not sure that I own anything that would fit into Dianne Fienstein's description of an assault weapon, but if I did, I would be highly offended.

The reason: because, whether it be an AK-47 or a wooden club, it is "not" an assault weapon unless the person using it is attacking someone else unlawfully with it, otherwise, it should rightly be called a "DEFENSE WEAPON". PERIOD!

Here are the dictionary definitions for the word "ASSAULT".

1. a sudden, violent attack; onslaught: an assault on tradition.
2. Law. an unlawful physical attack upon another; an attempt or offer to do violence to another, with or without battery, as by holding a stone or club in a threatening manner.
3. Military . the stage of close combat in an attack.
4. rape
5. to make an assault upon; attack; assail.

So if your neighbor is exercising his or her second amendment right by owning an AK-47 or an AR-15, is it an assault weapon or a defense weapon? Of course the answer is obvious, it's a defense weapon unless he starts shooting people for no reason. As I stated before, even a wooden club is considered an assault weapon in the wrong hands.

It's all political folks! The same political party that refuses to use the word "Terrorists" and calls a terrorist act "Work Place Violence", calls defensive weapons, assault weapons, for the purpose of changing the U.S. Constitution and destroying the 2nd amendment. Unfortunately, these same people do not have a fraction of the character and integrity of the ones who wrote the constitution and the 2nd amendment. Neither have they sacrificed for this country the way the founders did.

The politically correct advocates need to start being politically correct and call the weapons that legally belong to honest citizens, whether it be a rolling pin or an AR-15 "DEPENSE WEAPONS", and reserve the words Assault Weapon to apply to the military where it is appropriate.

Make no mistake, if someone is really intent on killing you, you will be dead unless you have a weapon to defend yourself. Did you know that locking your door will do little to deter an intruder who is persistent. If they want to kill you, they will simply break a window, enter your home and kill you, before the police can arrive. (Assuming you are unarmed)

Did you know that most of your house (aside from your locked doors), is only separated from the outside by a sheet of OSB, some insulation and drywall? Someone persistent can simply kick a hole through the walls of your house and they're in!

People with bad intentions do not go through the trouble of legally purchasing a weapon. No matter what kind of weapon you have in your house, if it is for protection, it's a "Defense Weapon" not an Assault Weapon", let's call it what it is and stop trying to deny people their rights.

Some political folks push the idea that no average citizen needs something as big as an AK-47 for home defense. To that I can only reply: "I have a friend that is a chef. In his home he has a beautiful kitchen all set up with industrial commercial equipment (stove, fridge, counters, island and all), he doesn't need all that to cook an egg for breakfast either, but that's his right!"

GOP IS DEAD

Is it too late to get out the defibrillator and shock it back to life? That's what many political analysts say, that it will take a drastic change within the party to revive it. I say just the opposite. I say go back to the basics, and stick to your guns.

Before the republican party died, it was missing in action for years. The republican party were too busy trying to be democrats, they totally lost sight of the values that made their party great. They were so worried about getting the hispanic, black, gay, Catholic and womens vote, they would pick a moderate instead of a conservative republican to run "Every Time".

They would pass up Newt Gingrich who was the most consistant conservative republican and pick a moderate like John McCain or Mitt Romney. All the while saying they wish that they had another Ronald Reagan to come to the rescue. The problem is, If another Ronald Reagan came along, they wouldn't vote for him!

Ronald Reagan held firm to his views, morals and policies and made no apologies for being republican. Newt Gingrich was the closest thing to Ronald Reagan since Reagan. However, the republican party was so afraid to lose the election, they thought picking someone with more democratic policies would clinch the election.

Let me point out that straying from their principals didn't work! The majority of hispanics voted for Obama even though most hispanics are deeply religious people and have much more in common with the republican party.

Republicans lost most of the Black vote, even though it was the republican party that freed the slaves and have been the greatest advocate for freedom and equality since the birth of the United States.

Republicans lost the majority of the Gay vote because they failed to articulate their belief that although most republicans are Christian, they fully support an individuals freedom to live the lifestyle they choose, but marriage between same sex couples should have a more unique title to their belief, with the same entitlements, just don't call it "marriage".

The GOP lost the majority of the Catholic vote, and voted for a man that clearly stated that: "We are no longer a Christian nation", Go figure? They lost the Catholic vote because they tried to stand for everything, while actually standing for nothing!

There's and old saying: "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything". In this case the GOP tried to stand for everything, and simply fell, and fell hard in an election that should have been a republican land slide! It was very wishy washy

The republicans lost the majority of the women's vote because both sides tried to play God, and the republicans were the worst at it. They desperately wanted the Religious Christian vote, so they would campaign against abortion and birth control to appease that group. The problem is, most of the religious groups they are trying to appease are too busy trying to be"God's policemen", instead of following him.

God gave us free will. If we tell someone that they cannot have an abortion, we are interfearing with their free will which is something that God doesn't even do. That person alone will have to answer to God, and face his wrath, or forgiveness. Granted, many consider abortion to be murder, and they may very well be right, however, in this entitlement society where young girls are taught in the public school system that abortion is simply another form of birth control, more time and effort should be spent on our constitutional right to freedom of speech so young girls can be informed of the consequences, not policing their actions

The truth is, by trying to appease everyone, the republican party has "lost" everyone. Stick to your morals and values and to the U.S. Constitution with no apologies, and you will win them back! They are pretty good morals and values and it is the only party in existence that will fight for your freedom and quality of life.

Republicans are against amnesty because it wouldn't be fair to let all those illegal immagrants jump ahead of the people who have honestly been waiting in line and followed the rules and laws. "EASY FIX", Simply push the people along that have been on the waiting lists and followed the laws, and do everything possible to make them citizens, then put all the illegals on the very same waiting list! Then CLOSE THE DAMN BORDERS to keep it legal!

Then see how many hispanics vote republican in the next election.

If you want the Catholic and religious Christian vote, let them know that you will fight to the death for their freedom of religion, which is being deteriorated daily by the current administration.

If you want the womens vote, stop trying to play God and let the other party destroy itself by doing so. Let women know that you not only support freedom of religion, which is mostly against abortion, you are also willing to fight to the death for a woman's right to have the freedom to choose what might be "destruction" for them, because this is America, and there is no place like it on earth.

When it comes to the "entitlement society", don't threaten to cut everyones free "stuff", instead, promise to work your fingers to the bone to assure that every American who wants a job, can get one and be prosperous!

Say what Obama said, only in this case "MEAN IT!" - "We are not the red states or the blue states, we are the United States of America" It's a great message, but we need someone who really believes it, and not just uses it for a clever political gimmick to get elected, then cause division between "Blacks and Whites" - "Rich and Poor" and the "Haves and Have Nots"

Is the republican party dead, or on life support in the "ICU"? Stand up and "Say what you mean, and mean what you say". Stop trying to be democrats to get the democratic vote! The majority of folks in this country have more in common with "you" when you stick to your values.

Stand up and fight for whats right, and the majority of people will stand with you. Be the next Ronald Reagan who did not apologise or stray from his beliefs (they're good beliefs). Stop electing wannabe democrats to run against democrats! People tend to vote for the real thing!

THE "POWER" OF FOX NEWS!

The ex-Marine, Jon Hammar, who was arrested at the Mexican border crossing Aug. 13 after attempting to declare an antique shotgun, has been released today! We would like to thank president Bill O'Reilly for making possible his release.

No, this is "not" a typo, I simply believe that the title should go to the one who is "actually" doing the job, and that happened to be Bill O'Reilly! Both the Secretary of State, and the President seemed to be "missing in action" while this x - Marine rotted away for months in one of Mexico's worst prisons, for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

We're glad that someone stepped up to the plate to do the presidents and Secretary of State's job when Washington was missing in action or preparing for their Christmas vacation. Mr. O'Reilly called for a boycott if Jon Hammar was not released by Christmas. Mexico depends a great deal on our citizens vacationing there. Thank God someone is looking out for the regular folks. (Didn't we elect someone to do that?)

NEWTOWN, CT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING - WHY?

You've all heard by now that 20 year old Adam Lanza broke into the Sandy Hook Elementary School and massacred 28 people. 20 of which were 6 and 7 year old children. It was unbelievable, and left the entire country, if not the world numb with shock and sadness. One six year old was shot 11 times!

The question that is being asked all over the media is "What prompted this young man to do such and evil thing?" Of course everyone has a different theory as to why, and the reasons I heard range to everything from "Too much television and violent video games, to mental illness" The only theory I didn't hear was the one that is correct. (I'll tell you what that is in a moment)

No doubt the gun control nuts will be falling out of the trees by the bushel full, trying to take away all the law abiding citizens guns because of this incident. However, let me point out that the day after this happened, a man in China entered an elementary school and stabbed several children and teachers with a knife. Lets face it, if we take away everyones knives, there will be more vegetarians. Try eating that porterhouse steak with just a spoon and fork! It's a "win win" situation.

Let me make something perfectly clear. The reason for these mindless assaults are rarely from playing video games or watching television, and mental illness, though it may or may not have played a part in this case, is not always the reason when these things occur. Granted, anyone who commits these kind of atrocities are obviously dealing with serious issues, but mental illness is not always the main factor.

"THE REASON" Some time ago, God was forced out of our public schools and other government institutions. Oh sure, there have been those who have stood their ground and went to court to protect their right to pray and carry a bible in school, and they won. However, many of those who confess to being Christian are "shunned" (to a degree) and treated more like outcasts because they do.

So God was taken out and replaced with "Political Correctness". While religion is somewhat frowned upon, political correctness has been embraced and welcomed with open arms, and the children who appear to accept it are more welcomed, and treated just a little more special. I was forced to home school my children because of the "mandatory" gay assemblies, and the philosophy that "Right and wrong are simply a matter of interpretation" that was being forced on my children from an early age all the way through high school.

Why do people commit horrible acts like the one in Newtown CT? Is it possible that these young people do not interpret these actions to be wrong? After all, if right and wrong are simply a matter of interpretation by the individual, it's possible that this is what they have been taught throughout most of their lives.

Here's the real danger! When you remove God from anyone, you also remove "all" restraining factors. Think about it, if there is no God, and death simply means "Nonexistence", then what is to keep you from doing anything you want to do, and what does it matter if what you do is either good or evil?

Religion is a very good thing for society whether you believe in God or not. Think about this: "If there is no God, and there is no heaven or hell and there are no consequences for what you do, why would one bother to be good?" A person could easily just gamble and say: "I'm going to rob a bank. If I succeed, I'll be set for life, and if I don't succeed, I'll just kill myself". What's to stop such a person if there is no God and no hell?

That! In my opinion is the epidemic society is faced with, and you will find it happening more and more frequently as time passes. Removing God from the school system was like removing all of the stop signs and traffic lights in the entire country. With no sytem of restraint, the accidents will occur at an alarming rate for a long time and more frequently.

So you see, guns are not the problem. Removing God! THAT'S THE PROBLEM! I don't know what was going through this young mans head, but if someone commits a terrible act like this and does not fear any consequences, it's possible they are simply applying what they have learned in school. (and then - maybe not)

My heart literally breaks for the parents and families of the little children who were victims of this senseless act. Who could have possibly known what was going to happen when they sent their kids off to school that day? God bring them peace. What a wonderful and joyfull day it will be when they are reunited with their children in heaven. Life is short and it "will" happen. God bless the parents - Please!
