"Dead Letter Office"
I received a letter asking " if God will (or can) change the hearts or minds of people". This is of course a condensed version of the question from a gentleman who's spouse has left him. He mentioned that his pastor went through a divorce and told him that God absolutely does "not" change peoples hearts or minds.
Actually this was an email that I looked forward to replying too, but he never subscribed, so I didn't reply. If you've emailed me recently, then you have noticed that you've received an "auto responder" (an email automatically sent to you with a prefabricated message)
The message states, if you want a reply from me to your question, comment or request, you must first subscribe to the "Power of Faith Mailing list". Why do I do this? Because, I have received letters in the past either asking for advice or to explain something in scripture.
On occasion, I have literally spent hours researching for the right answer to reply with, only to find that the person has given a bogus email address or mis-typed it. By subscribing to the mailing list, the program automatically checks to see if the email address given is valid. If not, it does not add it to the list. I receive an instant email informing me if it "is" valid and someone subscribes. (then I reply to them)
This is not an invasion of privacy, it is simply to protect me from wasting my time. Anyone can unsubscribe at any time very easily. Personal information is never shared or sold to any third party and is only used to send updates and information from Power of Faith Ministries to the recipient.
Anyway, it seems like some of the best and most challenging questions have come from people such as these. Maybe I'll post them on a page (with my response to them) and call it the "Dead Letter Office" What do you think?
