"Casting your Pearls before Swine"
Not too long ago, I found myself in an interesting discussion (or debate) with a gay teenager. No, I am not bashing him because he is gay, I only bring up the fact that he's gay because "he" was boldly proclaiming that he was gay. Matter of fact, he was practically shouting it from the rooftops!
After telling me (and others) of some of his sexual escapades in very graphic detail involving human feces and other disgusting info, he expected everyone to not only accept his lifestyle, but to applaud and embrace it. I told him that I personally didn't like his lifestyle. When asked why, I gave him a few reasons. A couple of my reasons were, it is unnatural and unsanitary.
Immediately, he started condemning me and attacking me because I am a Christian. He added, everything from the bible was written by idiots and can be interpreted a hundred different ways, then his belief that evolution is "fact" and we are fools to believe in God and the universe was the result of "The Big Bang".
I had to say: "Wait a minute! What does God have to do with this?", I simply said that I don't like your lifestyle. Religion has nothing to do with it. He then continued to bash my religious beliefs and God. I asked him: "Why do you keep bringing up God?" Do you want to talk about him? He then started throwing some filthy language at me and accusing me of trying to force my religion on him.
I asked him: "Why do "you" keep bringing up God?". I pointed out that "I" never at any time, brought up God or religion. I said: "If you really want to talk about God, I'll be happy to accommodate you". He said: "OK, science has proved that the earth has been here for billions of years, not 6 thousand like the bible says".
I said I don't have a problem with that, maybe it is. However, the population of the earth is currently about 6 billion people. The human population of the earth doubles every 40 years. Where are the rest of the people that should be here? Now using the same "scientific" calculations, go back 4,500 years to the time of Noah. Start with 8 people and do the math.
He then said that evolution is a proven scientific "fact". I asked him where he got his information. He said, his high school teachers (our tax dollars at work) and wikipedia. I reminded him that anyone can write anything on wikipedia and it is not to be taken as scientific "fact".
Also, the father of evolutionism, Darwin himself, said very clearly, "This is only a theory". (not fact) Check your history books! I then reminded him that there has never been any documented proof (or otherwise) to show that any species on earth has ever evolved into another species. Where's the Beef? (bones, fossils etc...)
Then, (as I knew we would) we hit on the subject of "The Big Bang". Which according to him was also "scientific fact". I reminded him that this also is a "theory". I said: You don't believe in a creator, but you believe that things can appear from nothing? That billions of years ago an atom appeared from nothing then exploded etc? Or that Gasses randomly came together and caused this great explosion?
He said: "Who created God?" I said: "Who created the gasses or the atom? (I call it the "magic atom")
The next time you are in a discussion with one of these Christian hating people or organizations, you would be smart to leave God out of it. They have been conditioned, mainly by teachers in the public school system, to turn it back on you and put "you" on the defensive. After all, does it make any sense at all to throw scripture at people who don't believe in scripture?
They can not conceive of the fact that a person can actually dislike their lifestyle or find it disgusting and not be a Christian. When you leave God out of these particular conversations, you give them nothing to attack you with and totally destroy their defense. There is plenty of scientific evidence to refute their own ridiculous theories.
