According to the Times Newspaper, (New York Times I assume) The Catholic Church released a new list of Mortal or Deadly sins. The old ones are still in effect, they just added 7 new ones to the list.

There are now 14 in all. (And boy, was I relieved!) I didn't do so good on the last batch, (Dan hangs his head in shame) But I did "really" good on the new ones.

The new deadly sins that may lead to eternal damnation are:

Polluting (This was the one that brought me down - I "do" drive a car)

Genetic Engineering (I'm pretty safe here, I can't even set the time on my VCR)

Being Obscenely Rich (I am like really, "Really" safe on this one!)

Drug Dealing (Passed again! Does taking Bayer Aspirin count?)

Abortion (Safe again, I was never aborted!)

Pedophilia (I won't even joke about this one, It's disgusting)

Causing Social Injustice (Me? No way! I just offend allot of people)

You have to admit, 6 out of 7 is pretty darn good! At one time or another I failed miserably at the old ones: Pride, Envy, Gluttony, Lust, Anger, Greed and Sloth. So, this new bunch was a real "Pick-Me-Up" for me.

I don't mean to make light of the Vatican's new list, and I could literally write a book on this subject, but I will just simply say: "Thank God I am covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. I "am" a sinner SAVED BY GRACE and at one time or another, I've been guilty of "all" of the old sins on this list, and many, many more.
