"True Story about Demon Possession"
It was several years ago and I don't talk about it much because it was one of the most horrifying events of my life. It was probably the first (and last) time we decided for no good reason, to skip church and just spend the day relaxing. The day seemed to go well and that night we went to bed as usual.
I awoke in the middle of the night, (about 3:00 AM) our bed shaking violently and levitating 3 feet off the floor. When I looked over at my wife, instead of seeing her normally pleasant looking face, I saw this crazed, demented looking "thing" that only slightly resembled her, glaring at me through glowing red eyes! Literally! Glowing Red!
Then, in an instant, her eyes rolled back in her head, revealing only white in the sockets. With a voice that I can only try to describe as sounding like the hissing of a snake, but in a much deeper tone, she said: "So, what do you think?"
"APRIL FOOLS!" Sorry, I just couldn't help myself. Hey! I told you before, I'm a sick man! (pray for me) Actually, this was intended to be the opening lines for a new page called "demon possession". (if I ever finish it) Truth is, I have had some experience with this. Nothing as hair raising as what is written above, but bad enough. Some day I'll tell you about it.
So, do these kind of scenarios actually happen? Sometimes, But not as frequently as some would have us believe. You see, Satan is a little more clever than "that". Let's face it, if you or me or anyone with even a little Christian upbringing so much as saw a coffee cup levitating across our living room, it would scare the total hell out of us and we would immediately be calling for Jesus or God to save us.
Satan does not attack us by appearing before us as a visually hideous looking demented fiend with fangs and claws. If he did it would be very obvious and it would simply drive his intended victims toward God in droves. He is much more subtle and clever than that.
Satan's goal is to separate you from God. He accomplishes this by twisting the truth and giving you a false sense of power. The truth has been twisted to such a degree, that people are convinced that God's grace is not enough to save them. They base their salvation on "performing well". If they feel they have performed good enough, they feel justified enough to enter heaven.
If they don't feel like they've earned it, they don't feel right with God. God's free gift of salvation is incomprehensible to them if it wasn't earned. We as human beings crave power and to be in control. It only makes sense. We were created in God's image. God is all powerful, so maybe it's natural that we lust for power, it's just not pleasing to God.
We seek power by following a set of rules. We follow the rules and laws better than the other guy and that places our salvation in our own hands. When the judgment comes, there's going to be allot of people yelling "I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!"
People only get involved in witchcraft and Satanism, because it promises them power. They just don't know that we as human beings will never possess power of our own. Either we are given authority and we use God's power as he wills, or we choose another path and demons do our bidding. (It is a deception and it won't last)
Make no mistake, you will never have power that you can claim as your own. (here on earth anyway) We were simply not made that way. We are all like glass. We are fragile and breakable. However, we are not so much like a glass bottle, that can be filled with the power of God and then stored, Instead we are like a glass mirror that God can use to reflect his power where he wants it, if we allow him to position us.
