Zero Tolerance
Link: http://pofm.org/
I was watching the news a couple of days ago and I see that a six year old boy was taken to the principals office at his school. Well, nothing shocking about that, but it doesn't stop there. The boy apparently patted another six year old, (girl) on the behind.
Granted, the boy should have gotten a stern talking to from his teacher. (which I'm sure he did)
But, he was sent to the principals office, who should have given him a stern talking to. (as I'm sure he did) I can live with that. After all, some one needs to explain to this young man that what he did is classified as inappropriate behavior. After all the child is six years old, he needs to know.
But, it didn't stop there. The principal called the police, (yes, you heard me correctly) which I'm sure scared the living daylights out of him. (and should be considered child abuse in and of itself) But, that's not all. Now they have put on this little boys permanent school record that he is a sexual harasser. Permanent meaning: It never gets taken off his record. (schools Zero tolerance policy)
Thank God they have done something about this "monster". I not only feel safer knowing that brave school principal has done something about this "masher", I feel I don't even need to lock the doors to our house any more.
When exactly did things change and teachers are no longer required to use logic or common sense? Was it about the same time they kicked God out of the schools? Maybe Zero Tolerance should be applied to the teachers when our children don't learn.
