Wack-a-Mole!
Now that you've accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior, "Your troubles are over". That's it! From this point on, your life is going to exclusively consist of just sitting on the beach and holding that drink with the little umbrella in it! (non alcholic of course)
People will shower you with money and if someone stands within even 20 feet of you, they will be healed. (of anything) It's sunshine and roses, milk and honey for you, from now on.
Have you heard this before? Or a slightly different version of it? Just tune your TV to any of the Christian television stations any given Sunday, and you will eventually. They are called "Prosperity Preachers".
The only small catch to receiving all these blessings is: You have to either Plant a seed, send a love gift or buy something from that particular ministry. Then it's easy street from then on out! (unless of course you miss a payment)
You'll notice that I left out tithing. I won't go in depth about it, but if you want to know any preachers true position on tithing, just tell him (or her) that you are tithing somewhere else. Another Church, TV ministry etc... (have fun) After all, should he care where you are tithing as long as you are doing it? (it's your soul he is concerned about, right?)
The truth is, you are going to have problems pop up in your life, even after you have accepted Jesus Christ.
Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
My wife and I face problems just like anyone else, but we've learned how to minimize and deal with them. It reached a point at one time that we hated to check the mailbox and answer the door or the phone for fear of what new problem the day would bring.
It would shatter our nerves and cause depression until we realized that God was faithful to deal with each problem "every time". So eventually, we started calling it "Wack a Mole".
Just like the childrens game, a problem would pop up, then God would hand us a mallet, then we'd "Wack it down!" or God would wack it for us. It got to a point where it just didn't devistate us the way it used to.
Then we learned that we could prevent allot of the same problems from happening again by praying protection over us, our children and our household. Prayer is a full time job. God will protect you when you pray for protection, but Satan will constantly look for new avenues with which to attack you.
Through prayer and sticking close to God, it's just another mole to be wacked. Then you add the new situation to your list of things to pray protection over.
I'm "not" a prosperity preacher, and I'm not saying this works for everyone, but it can! If your not a member of the club, don't expect to enjoy the benifits. In other words, have a personal relationship with God, then watch him "WACK THAT MOLE".
However, you can't skip the most important step if you want God"s protection! If you want to watch God play "wack a mole" you have to get to know him first. (he already knows you)
