There are some very old home remedies that have been passed down through the generations in my family. Some of these, I've heard, are credited to my great grandmother, who was a full blooded Cherokee Indian.

I'll give you a couple. You'll probably say "phooey", but I can tell you from experience, they actually work! You won't believe this until you try it for yourself, but, if you have a toothache, even an open cavity, the pain will be relieved by chewing "raisins"!

Trust me, I know the last thing in the world you would think about doing if you had a toothache, would be to put something sweet like raisins near it. However, IT WORKS!

You'll have to prove this for yourself, but I am talking from experience as someone who has done this! (been there, done that, trust me)

Something else you might laugh at (but it's true) is the fact that if you cut your hair on the down of the moon, it will grow back slower. Similarly, if you cut it on the "up" of the moon, (full moon) it will grow back quickly! (again, proven! - been there, done that)

I have many more, but won't go into them right now. However, there are similar remedies in the bible, but mostly for your soul. For instance, "Pray for your enemies", seems just as silly as chewing raisins for a toothache, but it works!

Another is "Give and it will be given to you, press down, shaken together and overflowing". Makes about as much sense as cutting your hair on the full moon doesn't it? However, It works!

NO, NO, NO, I did not say "Give to the preacher, it means, give to the poor". Keep in mind that when people suported Pauls ministry, they "were" giving to the poor! There is no record of him riding around in fine carridges and staying in the finest hotels.

Neither did he buy a mansion with the money. He was however, taken care of most of the time. Read the red letters in your bible. They are the home remedies for the soul. They may not make sense to you at the time, but they work. (Trust God)
