"Suicide is Painless"
Remember the TV series "Mash"? The name of the theme song for Mash was "Suicide is Painless". (a nice piece of music) I liked that show very much and still enjoy watching the reruns.
However, I doubt that suicide is really painless. I mean, before, during or after! Although I don't know of any scriptures directly condemning suicide, some Christians have made a very good point.
The point is, suicide is the "murder of ones self" and murder is against the will of God. So, if you commit suicide, the last action you performed on this earth was "murder". (thou shalt not kill)
Though God forgives sins, this is a sin in which you can not ask to be forgiven for. (because your already dead) So the conclusion is, you go to hell! Interesting huh?
I could easily make an argument about Judas, who betrayed Jesus. He committed suicide, but was also an important instrument used by God. If you think about it, his role was probably "more" important than the other 11 disciples/apostles.
Judas played an important role in the salvation of mankind. God chose Judas to fulfill this roll. (probably before the beginning of time) So, did Judas go to hell? Here's something interesting to think about.
Would God chose a person, before they were born, to serve his purpose, only to spend eternity in Hell? (meaning, he was born to do this?) Hey! Don't look at me, I truthfully don't know. All I can tell you is, God can do "anything" he wants!
I'm not preaching to you at this moment, and I'm not telling you what happens when you commit suicide. I am simply wondering, and making "you" wonder.
All I can tell you for sure is: "If you are considering suicide, you'd be better to assume the "murder" theory. If you don't, you are one hell of a "high stakes" gambler. (If you're wrong, it will be your last game)
God shows me some pretty amazing things from time to time, but as most people familiar with this site know, I don't have all the answers. (and don't pretend too)
However, I am getting more email lately, with the theme having to do with "suicide". I will be writing a webpage on this soon. I will need your prayers.
As I said, this blog was not written to tell you how God deals with suicide, it was written to make you think about it. (and blog about it if you wish) I am always open for suggestions and opinions.
If you are a multi billionaire CEO, you can still learn "something" from a janitor! (don't ever forget that) I'm open to your critizism and I'm open to your praise.
