PRESIDENTIAL DOUBLE STANDARD?

Concerning the building of the mosque at ground zero, the president stated:
“I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there. I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That's what our country is about. And I think it's very important, as difficult as some of these issues are, that we stay focused on who we are as a people and what our values are all about."
However, when the "Reverend" Terry Jones threatened to stage a public burning of the Koran, Mr Obama commented right away. However, the rights people have that dates back to our founding didn't seem to apply to the Reverend.
Think about it? When was the last time an American citizen got a phone call from the Secretary of Defense urging him to call off a political demonstration? Invoking his status as commander-in-chief, Obama accused Jones of, in effect, abetting America's enemies: "This kind of behavior or threats of action put our young men and women in harm's way. And it's also the best imaginable recruiting tool for al-Qaeda."
I personally am not in favor of burning the Koran. I also am not in favor of building a mosque at the graveyard of 3,000 people who were innocently killed by extremists, who claim to be of the religion that supports this mosque.
As we all know, the muslims have a right under the constitution to build their mosque there, and Reverend Jones has a right under the constitution to burn the koran. So, which is it Mr Obama? Does the constsiution apply to everyone, or just Muslims?
The best imaginable recruiting tool for al-Qaeda would be the building of the mosque at ground zero. They consider it a victory and it is good for their morale. ("That" will cause more deaths!)
Now before anyone calls me a wack-o or hate monger, I'd just like to clarify -
“I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making the decision to burn the Koran. I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That's what our country is about. And I think it's very important, as difficult as some of these issues are, that we stay focused on who we are as a people and what our values are all about."
(hmmm those words sound strangely familiar)
