DOES THE STATEMENT JESUS MADE IN JOHN 3:13 CONFLICT WITH 2 KINGS 2:11 IN THE OLD TESTAMENT?
John 3:13 does appear to be a contradiction on the surface, however, as I always say, if you want to know the true meaning of a verse, just back up a few to put it in context. (Something very few preachers do)
When Jesus said: "No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man" - it’s obvious that Elias and Enoch were taken to heaven according to the scriptures. However, Jesus was making a point. His point to Nicodemus (A teacher of Israel), who didn’t believe what he was saying, was, that he (Jesus) was an “eye witness” of the knowledge of heaven and how it works, because he’d been there. (“we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen”)

When he mentioned ascending and descending to and from heaven, it was his way of saying that he alone can come and go from heaven as he pleases, whereas Enoch and Elias cannot come and go as they please, or anyone else for that matter.

John 3:11 - "Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony.
John 3:12 - "If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

People assume that everything Jesus said was meant for everybody, everywhere, but I don’t believe that was the case here.

Let me give you an example: I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. Flint, Michigan has one of the highest crime rates in the world, so let’s say that you and I and a few other people were having a conversation in a room and one of you proceeds to tell me how safe it is to live in Flint. Then I say, “no one knows what Flint is like but the one who lived there for years”. Of course that doesn’t mean that no one else ever lived in Flint, Michigan, it simply means that none of the people in the room whom I am speaking to ever have. Meaning, I am an eye witness so believe me, I know!

As to John 6:44: John 6:44 - "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day".

Jesus also said: John 14:15 - "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

Many preachers will tell you that this means to follow the Ten Commandments, however, Jesus had only one or two commandments, to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. He said that by doing so, you “were” fulfilling “ALL” of the commandments. (613 of them to be exact) Matthew 22:40 - "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."

I have a simple rule (right or wrong) when the writings of what Jesus said conflict in any way with the writings about what Paul said, I pick Jesus every time! The fact that you are reading this and you are seeking the truth about this subject proves that you have been drawn.

This “is” a very corrupt and confusing merry-go-round we are riding. Religion is the second biggest money making industry in the world. Guess what the first one is? PORNOGRAPHY! Does that tell you something? I tell people the truth and I get blasted by both atheists and Christians alike. Trust me, telling the truth doesn’t make you rich! (unlike the many preachers who are living in mansions and riding in a limo)

That doesn’t bother me too much because, Jesus was killed for telling people what they didn’t want to hear. (Mainly, the religious people) Trust me, I know exactly what to put on this website if I wanted to get flooded with donations and have a better financial life, however, that will never happen because it wouldn’t be honest, and I would eventually have to answer to God.
