OBAMA ON TEXAS BORDER TALKS IMMIGRATION REFORM AND SLAMS REPUBLICANS!
President Obama vowed (again) to fight for comprehensive immigration reform during a visit to the Texas border on Tuesday May 10, 2011. The president seemingly bragged about his administration's efforts to crack down on those who attempt to cross into the U.S. illegally.

Mr Obama couldn't seem to resist using the oportunity to again slam republicans by saying:
"We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement," Obama said. "But even though we've answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time."
"Maybe they'll need a moat," Obama said mockingly to laughter from the crowd. "Maybe they'll want alligators in the moat."
Here are the sad facts about the border. The border between Mexico and the United States is slightly under 2,000 miles long. There are currently 646 miles of barriers. Of the 646 miles of barriers, 300 miles of it are vehicle barriers. (See picture)

Does this look secure to you? Vehicle barriers are meant to keep cars and trucks from crossing the border, but do nothing to stop anyone on foot from practically just stepping over it, or even lying a motorcycle on its side and sliding it under.
Roughly 1,350 miles will not be protected by a border fence of any kind and will be patrolled by border agents and other infrastructure or technology, or a combination of all three.
So the question is, would Mr Obama still brag if the White House were as equally protected as the border? To earn those bragging rights I would suggest Mr Obama have the fence removed around the White House, except for just one side, then keep only enough Secret Service to patrol two sides of the White House. (about one or two guys)
Then the White House would be as equally protected as the Mexican border. Of course this would never happen but, the bottom line is, we have a president living behind a fence, with heavy security, bragging about how safe he has made the Mexican border.
