Jeremiah 32:27 - Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

THE LORD HELPS THOSE WHO CANNOT HELP THEMSELVES

There's an old saying we've all heard. "When you can't find a way out, or a solution to your problem, God has thousands to choose from".

God has a thousand ways, Where I can see not one; When all my means have reached their end,
Then His have just begun.

As I've pointed out several times on this website, the old scripture "The Lord helps those who help themselves" doesn't exist! It is "not" a scripture, and it can not be found anywhere in the bible. It is simply a catchy phrase that someone made up. Even though it sounds real clever and spiffy, it is inaccurate and totally the opposite of what Christ and the bible teaches.

God created us to be dependant on him. Never in history has it been harder to have a relationship with God, than it is today. In the beginning when God created Adam, God created him to be totally dependant on him. God not only provided food and an atmosphere where shelter and clothing were not even needed, God provided for Adams emotional needs and created woman. People, men and women alike, don't realize that God still wants to provide for your emotional needs.

We have been so preprogrammed as to what a relationship is, that we totally miss the mark when it comes to having a relationship with the father. Our prayers, therefore, don't get answered. The Church will gladly bring you up to the front and pray for you if you have cancer, but if you are lonely or having relationship problems, they treat you as if you are silly and wasting Gods time. The Church seems to be pretty picky as to what God can or cannot do with his time.

We often don't realize, or don't care what the other person might be going through, and too often decide what is worthy to pray for and what isn't. If someone has lost their husband or wife due to a death, we are there to console them, offer words of encouragement, send them food and offer to do anything we can to help lessen their pain. However, when someone is going through a divorce, we shy away from them as if they are contagious with the plague.

That's amazing considering that most of them are going through the same thing. Their spouse, and sometimes children have been taken away against their will, and their life as they have known it is suddenly over. Well, we don't want to bother God over such silly things, however, just walk in and tell them you want to quit smoking and you'll see the place come alive! Before you can say "Marlboro Man", you'll be rushed up to the front, people will be laying hands on you, and they'll cast that demon right out of you no matter what it takes!

To help you, they'll take your cigarettes and rip them up and stomp on them. It's quite a show! They did that to me once! I staggered around the stage clutching my heart saying: "Hey! Those are 6 bucks a pack! And the prayer didn't take!! I still want a cigarette!! haha Anyway, I'm sure you get my point. The Church may consider it silly to pray over your emotional needs, but God does not!

AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE

We are so busy these days, we find little time for God. For most of us, it is only when we are desperate and have no way out and no where else to turn that we start seriously communicating with God. It is then that our prayers get intense. But the great and amazing thing is, when we cry to God for help, "he listens". It is not the circumstance that matters, it's the fact that we are finally serious about communicating with God.

God is faithful and God is good to his word. For allot of us, it takes a catastrophe before we truly seek God.
(It did for me) And the worse the catastrophe, the closer and longer we seek to be close to God. Why? Because we get to see first hand how awesome he truly is when he bails us out of whatever problem we were in. (and he will) It is those people who walk out of it with a testimony. I mean a "real" testimony, not like the thousands of preachers who's entire testimony consists of the time they coveted their neighbors shoes, or the time they lusted after their wife and had sex with the lights on! GASP!!!

Those of us who were so stubborn that it took a catastrophe to bring us to the Lord, have since learned to pray to God for protection "before" something bad happens, and not wait until our entire world collapses. I recommend this to you the reader. If you don't pray for the safety of your spouse and children every day, you should. Don't wait for your marriage to start falling apart, ask God to bless it and sustain it, and tell him how grateful you are for your spouse. Don't wait until you lose your job before you ask God to bless your finances.

God specializes in miracles. There is no hole you can dig for yourself that is so deep that he cannot reach his mighty hand down into, to pull you out. There is no other like God. No one else can do what he does. His power is infinite. Do you really think that your problem is too tough for him to handle? God seeks a relationship with you. Seek a relationship with him, then watch him confront your problems.

Romans 8:31 - What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

God Bless You
