Jeremiah 32:27 - Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?
~ GRIEF IS THE PRICE WE PAY FOR LOVE ~
One of the marks of a person with true wisdom is, they can tell an entire story using only one sentence. Jesus did that many, many times. Winston Churchill also did this many times, and Ronald Reagan was another.
One who speaks wisdom is not and should not be mistaken for the one who is simply a great orator or an eloquent public speaker. Wisdom can come from the lips of anyone, whether they are well educated or not.
Wisdom is judged by the content and truth of the words being spoken, not how eloquently they are said.
A good orator can tell lie after lie, and as long as it is spoken eloquently, the speaker will usually receive much applause and fanfare as he leads those very same people toward destruction. Lets face it, there are many great orators in Congress, the Senate and the White House, but little wisdom these days. There are even thousands of great orators speaking from behind thousands of pulpits, who are leading their listeners to hell.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I heard a statement from Queen Elizabeth II. I'll admit, I don't really understand the monarchy in England, probably like allot of you don't understand it, however we respect it, and it is sometimes fascinating to us.
What really struck me was when Queen Elizabeth II, told Prince William after the death of his mother, Princess Diana, "Grief is the price we pay for love". When I heard that, I thought "WOW" I could do about a hundred sermons based on that one sentence, and how true it is. The difference between listening to a great orator and a person with wisdom is, the person speaking wisdom makes "you" think.
Lets face it, I don't mean to be depressing, but no matter who you are, you are going to die someday. No matter who you are, those you love are going to die someday. It's not a question of "if", it is only a question of when. From the day you were born, your days were numbered. We can't escape the grief of losing a loved one (unless of course you are the first one to be taken), and even God experienced it when he offered up his own son. It was the price he paid for loving us, and the price he paid "for" us!
Whether we understand and agree with the British monarchy or not, I have to give Queen Elizabeth II a two thumbs up. In this present age of evil and corruption that we live in, I see her as an example of stability. In these present times where politicians lie, and the majority of the people of their party think it's okay to do so, and where senators and congressmen cheat on their wives, and have lewd internet affairs and lie to their constituents, Queen Elizabeth seems to be someone who has chosen an honorable set of morals and code of conduct to live by, and stuck to it.
